Augusta Sales Tax Collection Outpaces Last Year - 1/31/12

Augusta, Georgia is pleased to announce that the sales tax collections for December 2011 were 2.56% ahead of last years collections.
As we continue to monitor our local financial situation daily, the fact that our sales tax revenues are exceeding last years collections as well as our budget projections is welcome news, comments Mayor Copenhaver. Augusta is very fortunate to generate ongoing economic data showing that we have one of the strongest local economies not only in our state, but in the nation as a whole.
